A Recent Study has linked breastfeeding to a decrease in risk for Endometriosis. The study composed of 72,394 women who each had one or more pregnancies. 3,296 diagnosis of Endometriosis was among the group.

Women who nursed for less than one month per pregnancy had a 32% higher chance of endometriosis compared to those who nursed for a year or more. This averages out to about 8% reduction in the rate of Endo for every 3 months spent nursing.

The study relied on self-reporting for breastfeeding statistics but other than that, it tried to account for body mass index, smoking, and other factors.

Knowing this could make more women likely to Breastfeed in the future to reduce their likelihood of Endometriosis.
